Filming process in pictures

As i wasn't in this scene i thought it was a good idea to take a few pictures to see how set, and characters.

Here above is our 2 detectives in costume

Tom (camera man sorting out the lighting which took a while but we got     there in the end)

Our first day of filming

During this we had a few problems with the street being busy with cars, and people walking past this did take upto about an hour then the camera battery died but we will only be using little parts of the footage taken.

Planning

We decided to create a schedule when we should film, create our poster and do blogging. This will ensure we'll have plently of time to edit our short film.

Recording

This is a picture of (Kirsty Rice) who is playing our main character `Marilyn' walking up the street having come home from work and (Tom Johnson) who is our camera man. Having had to record the same part a few times to make sure it was looked correct here is a picture of our working progress, with it being dark quality because we wanted to film at night with the effect of the street lights on.

Storyboard

We had to create a storyboard that shows whats happening in each scene with drawings, timing spent on each scene and speech thats said and what shots we would like to use.

Our cast and costumes

Tom Johnson; who is our camera man and director, he doesnt need a costumes as hes never on screen.

Kirsty; Shes the main character and whos plays `Marilyn' We decided to dress her in a 1950's style which matches our era. Also her fur coat, black heels and her accessories which shows her wealth and luxury. With her black clothing also shows that shes a mysterious character.

Sophie (myself) I play the policewoman who's the first one onto the scene talking to Marilyn in her state of shock and i explain to the detectives how shes coping and whats exactly occurred. Ive got a simple costume with black shoes and trousers and a white shirt this shows that its a smart and respectable.

Film Noir Posters

`Stranger On The Third Floor' is an example of film noir, with its unsettling compositions, low-camera angles and with the  multi-storey staircases; these elements are reflected in the film’s poster. The story follows an innocent protagonist falsely accused of murder and his desperate quest to clear his name.

`Born to Kill' used to be called 'Lady of Deceit'' The story follows a divorcĂ©e risks her chances at wealth and security with a man she doesn't love by getting involved with the hotheaded murderer
